Livestock Judging Contest
Chairman: Lesley Newsom – Calico Rock FFA Advisor
Assistant: Nathan Rheinhart – U of A Cooperative Extension Service, Independence Co.
This contest will consist of teams or individuals. A team can be either three (3) or four (4)
members. If your team has four members then the low score will be dropped. We will also have
two divisions: Juniors- age 9-13 and Seniors- age 14-19. Each participant will place two (2)
classes each of Beef Cattle, Swine, and Sheep. The senior division will also give one (1) set of
oral reasons, participants will be given that information at the beginning of the contest.
The winning team and individuals from each division will receive an award.
Farm Business Management Contest

The contest involves two portions:
(1) A 50 question multiple choice test
(2) A problem solving portion that my include one or two of the following: Financial
Statements, Partial Budgets, Marketing, Supply and Demand, or Marginal Costs.
Contestants will be allowed 90 minutes to complete the contest. There will be two divisions:
Junior – 9th Grade and Under
Senior – 10th – 12th Grade
